Hot Cocoa + Marshmallow Buddies

A perfect treat for a cozy holiday with family or a fun post-sledding snow day snack!   Time: 45 minutes Yield: 2 mugs of hot cocoa   Hot Cocoa Ingredients: 2 cups milk (whole or 2% milk) 2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar ¼ cup + 1 Tbsp. semi-sweet chocolate chips   Marshmallow Buddies Ingredients: 6 large marshmallows 8 pretzel sticks 2 Tbsp. semi-sweet chocolate, melted Orange edible marker, or orange candy melts   Directions: 1. In a medium sized saucepan, combine the milk, cocoa powder, and sugar. Place over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Whisk constantly. 2. Bring the heat down to low and add in the chocolate chips. Continue to whisk until the mixture is nice and smooth. 3. Pour the hot cocoa into your favorite mugs. This recipe can easily be doubled if you want to serve more. 4. To make the marshmallow buddies, begin by placing three marshmallows through one pretzel stick to make the body of the snowman. Use the step by step pictures to help guide you. 5. Place two pretzel sticks on either side of the middle marshmallow to create the arms. 6. Place two more pretzel sticks coming out from the bottom marshmallow to make legs. 7. Lastly, pipe on buttons, a mouth, and a face using the melted chocolate. You can get creative and pipe a scarf or hat too! 8. Use an edible marker or melted orange candy melts to create the nose. 9. Place the marshmallow buddies on top of the mug of hot cocoa and enjoy!
