  • Store bought sugar cookie dough
  • 1 ½ cups unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 2-3 Tbsp. heavy whipping cream
  • 1-2 drops brown food dye
  • 1-2 drops yellow food dye
  • ½ cup brown sprinkles
  Directions:
  1. Prepare and bake the sugar cookies according to the directions on the package. Allow them to cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.
  2. In the meantime, you can make the buttercream. To make the buttercream use an electric mixer to beat the butter until smooth in a large bowl.
  3. Add the confectioner’s sugar to the butter and continue to beat. Gradually add the heavy whipping cream one tablespoon at a time.
  4. Once the buttercream is nice and smooth and there are no lumps, remove about ½ cup of buttercream and transfer it to a small bowl. Add the 2-3 drops of brown food dye. Mix until the buttercream is fully colored. Transfer to a piping bag.
  5. To the remaining buttercream, add 2-3 drops of yellow food dye. Mix until evenly incorporated then transfer to a piping bag.
  6. Once the cookies have cooled completely, slice the tip of the yellow piping bag on both sides at an upright angle.
  7. Pipe small brown circles of buttercream in the center of each cookie. Dip the cookies with the brown center of buttercream into the chocolate sprinkles. Pat the sprinkles down before adding the petals.
  8. Pipe about 8 petals on each cookie starting in the center and working your way out for each petal.
