- 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup confectioner's sugar
- 2-5 tsp. water
- 2-3 drops food dye
- festive sprinkles (optional)
- peeps marshmallows (optional)
-
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. and line a 9” x 9” pan with parchment paper. Lightly grease this pan then set aside.
- In a large microwave safe bowl, melt down the butter in 30 second intervals until it is completely melted.
- Add the cocoa powder and whisk until the mixture is nice and smooth.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time mixing between each addition.
- Add in the sugar. The mixture will begin to thicken up. At this point, switch to a silicone spatula to mix the brownie batter.
- Add the vanilla extract and continue to mix.
- Add the flour and salt to the brownie batter and mix until there are no lumps and the batter is nice and smooth.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly using the silicone spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the center is no longer jiggly. Youcan also test the doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center of the pan. If the toothpick comes out clean then the brownies are done.
- Take the brownies out of the tray and let them cool completely before slicing.
- Slice the brownies into squares then make the glaze.
- Combine the water and confectioner’s sugar until the glaze is nice and smooth. Add the food dye color of your choice.
- Spoon about 1 Tbsp. of glaze on top of each brownie. While the glaze is still wet, add some festive colored sprinkles.
- Top the brownies with peep marshmallows and enjoy!
