- 1 box vanilla cake mix
- 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 cup strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup blueberries
- Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the directions on the box. Bake in a 9” x 9” baking pan then allow the cake to cool completely.
- While the cake cools, we can prepare the whipped cream and fruit.
- To make the whipped cream, use an electric mixer to beat the heavy cream while gradually adding in the sugar and vanilla. Whip up until the mixture is smooth and fluffy and a cool whip consistency.
- Wash and pat dry the strawberries and blueberries. Cut the strawberries into thin slices.
- Slice the cooled vanilla cake into small cubes.
- You can either assemble one large trifle or several mini ones. Begin by placing a few pieces of vanilla cake to cover the bottom of the trifle dish. Next, top with a layer of whipped cream, then sliced strawberries, more whipped cream, blueberries then top with a dollop of whipped cream and cake on top!
- You can get creative with the assembling process and mix up the pattern of layers or add in more fruit and fillings of your choice!
