Let the mission begin!
1. Navigate the "Hallway Laser Maze"

Every master spy needs agility. This classic indoor spy game transforms your hallway into a high-tech security vault.
What You Need:
-
A ball of red yarn or crepe paper
-
Painter’s tape
The Mission: Tape the yarn in a zig-zag pattern back and forth across a hallway, creating a "laser" web. The goal is for your little spies to get from one end of the hallway to the other without touching the lasers. If they touch a string, they have to start over!
2. Bake Clues with "On The Case Cookies"

Even secret agents need to eat! Combine the thrill of a mystery with the science and art of baking using our On the Case Cookies Kit.
This easy, all-in-one baking kit comes with pre-measured dry ingredients and a step-by-step recipe, which means you get hours of learning and fun with just minutes of prep and clean-up. It is specifically designed to elevate your little one's culinary skills while seamlessly blending in STEAM lessons and hands-on detective work.
The Mission: Have your recruits follow the top-secret recipe to create their cookies. They will practice fine motor skills by cutting out the cookie centers and learn a cool new baking technique by turning hard candy into "edible glass" for a unique filling!
While the cookies are in the oven, the mission continues with the included extra sweet activities:
-
Build Core Agent Skills: Sharpen math and reading literacy by cracking codes and deciphering clues like a real detective.
-
Conduct Covert Operations: Step into a world of mystery by revealing secret messages and learning how to write with invisible ink.
-
Solve the Case: Dive into an immersive story and use their deductive reasoning to navigate a mystery dinner at a mansion!
It is the absolute perfect combination of STEM learning, following directions, and a sweet, edible reward.
3. Uncover Secrets with Invisible Ink

No detective training is complete without learning how to send classified information. This easy science experiment doubles as a thrilling spy activity.
What You Need:
-
Lemon juice (or baking soda mixed with water)
-
Cotton swabs or paintbrushes
-
White paper
-
A heat source (an iron, a hot lightbulb, or a candle (adult supervision required!)
The Mission: Have your kids dip a cotton swab into the lemon juice and write a secret message or draw a treasure map on the paper. Let it dry completely until it's invisible. To reveal the message, an adult holds the paper carefully over a warm lightbulb or irons it. The heat oxidizes the lemon juice, turning it brown and revealing the secret code!
4. Master the Art of Fingerprint Dusting

Who stole the last cookie from the cookie jar? Time to bring out the forensic science! Fingerprint dusting makes kids feel like real crime scene investigators.
What You Need:
-
A clear drinking glass
-
Lotion
-
Cocoa powder (for light surfaces) or Cornstarch/Baby powder (for dark surfaces)
-
A soft makeup brush
-
Clear packing tape
-
Dark construction paper
The Mission: Have your child rub a tiny bit of lotion on their thumb and press it onto the glass. Dip the makeup brush lightly in the powder and gently dust over the area until the print appears. Carefully place a piece of clear packing tape over the dusted print, peel it off, and stick it onto the construction paper to preserve the evidence!

5. Crack the Code: DIY Ciphers

Code-breaking is a vital spy skill that heavily exercises a child's critical thinking and math skills. A simple "Caesar Shift" code is perfect for elementary-aged kids.
The Mission: Leave coded notes around the house leading to a "stolen" prize. Give your child the decoder ring and let them decipher the clues to find the treasure.

6. Test Your Observation with "Kim's Game"

Spies need to have a photographic memory. "Kim's Game" is a classic memory test used by real intelligence agencies!
The Mission: Place 10-15 random household objects on a tray. Give your secret agents exactly 60 seconds to memorize everything on the tray. Cover the tray with a towel, and secretly remove one item. When you remove the towel, the first spy to figure out what is missing wins the round!
7. Craft DIY Spy Binoculars

Every agent needs surveillance gear. This easy craft repurposes items from your recycling bin into crucial spy equipment.
What You Need:
-
Two empty toilet paper rolls
-
Glue or tape
-
Black paint or construction paper
-
Yarn or string
The Mission: Have your kids decorate their binoculars, tape the two rolls together, and attach the yarn so they can wear their new gear around their necks. Now they are ready for a stakeout!
8. Go Undercover in a "Night Vision" Obstacle Course

Take the training to the next level by turning out the lights.
The Mission: Once the sun goes down (or in a dark basement), set up a safe obstacle course using pillows and couch cushions. Give your kids flashlights and have them navigate the terrain in the dark, searching for hidden "intel" (like glow-in-the-dark stars or hidden notes).
9. Create a Disguise Station

Every spy needs an alias and a good disguise to blend in.
ATTENTION RECRUITS: Before infiltrating the field, every top-tier operative needs an alias and a foolproof disguise to blend into the shadows!
THE DIRECTIVE: Report immediately to the HQ Disguise Lab. We’ve secured a classified supply trunk filled with tactical hats, wigs, decoy glasses, and undercover mustaches. It is time to create your ultimate secret agent persona to match your new credentials!
AGENT INSTRUCTIONS:
-
Gear Up: Select your items from the disguise trunk to build your un-crackable undercover look.
-
Establish Your Identity: Choose your official Agent Codename and declare your Special Skill to fill out your badge (Are you a Tech Surveillance Pro, a Lab Analyst, or a Codebreaker?).
-
Secure Your Credentials: Stand by for reconnaissance! Have the Agency Director snap a highly classified digital photo of your new alias to attach directly to your Official Spy ID Badge.
Remember: Leave no trace, and don't break character!

10. Embark on a Neighborhood "I Spy" Scavenger Hunt

Take the spy training outside! A neighborhood scavenger hunt tests their field observation skills.
The Mission: Create a list of things for your agents to spot in the neighborhood (e.g., a red car, a dog on a leash, a pinecone, a yellow flower). Give them a clipboard and let them check off the items as they conduct their neighborhood surveillance.

11. Playdate Undercover Ops: Simple Setup for Two

A playdate doesn't require a whole agency. A focused "undercover operation" for two is perfect for a rainy afternoon.
How to Execute the Mission: Give the two agents a specific mystery to solve, perhaps "The Case of the Missing Lego." Use invisible ink (Activity #3) to pass messages back and forth. This is fantastic for cooperative play, as one child can write the message while the other decodes it!
12. Plan the Ultimate Spy Birthday Party Mission

Once your kids have mastered the basics, bring all these elements together for an unforgettable event!
How to Execute the Mission:
-
The Dossier: Send invitations inside manila folders labeled "CLASSIFIED."
-
The Entrance: As recruits arrive, they establish their "cover" at your disguise station (Activity #9).
-
The Main Event: For the core activity, use the On The Case Cookies Kit. While the magnifying glass cookies are baking, the recruits can complete their official fingerprint records or decode messages leading to their party favors!
