Father’s Day Golf Cupcakes For Kids

Ingredients

  • Boxed cupcake mix
  • Canned vanilla frosting
  • ½ cup crushed graham cracker crumbs
  • 10-12 white pearl sprinkles

Tools

  • 10-12 toothpicks
  • Red marker
  • 1 sheet of white paper
  • Tape
  • Grass piping tip
  • Piping bag
  • Offset spatula or butterknife

Directions

  1. Bake your Dad’s favorite cupcake flavor according to the directions on the box. Whether it be chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, lemon, whatever your Dad loves the most!
  2. Once the cupcakes have finished baking, be sure to let them cool completely before decorating that way the buttercream won’t melt or soften too much.
  3. Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, spread some vanilla buttercream on top of the cupcake, only covering a small amount of the cupcake. This will be the sand pit!
  4. Dunk the cupcake in graham cracker crumbs to stick to the buttercream.
  5. Dye the remaining buttercream, once all of the sandpits have been made, green. This is going to be the grass.
  6. Place the green buttercream into a piping bag fit with a grass piping tip. Pipe grass all over the rest of the cupcake that isn’t covered with the graham cracker sand pit.
  7. To make the little toothpick flags, cut out little triangles from the white paper then color them red. Tape the triangles to the top of the toothpicks.
  8. Stick the toothpick flags on top of the cupcakes. Repeat these steps for each cupcake.
  9. Place a pearl sprinkle on top of each cupcake, they will stick best on top of the grass buttercream.
  10. Tell your Dad how much you appreciate him and enjoy these delicious cupcakes together!
